Superman Earth One Review

Superman Earth One

DC Comics announced nearly a year ago that they would be creating a series of stand alone graphic novels about the major heroes in the DCU, and appropriately enough they started it off with Superman Earth One.

Written by J. Michael Straczynski and illustrated by Shane Davis with colours by Sandra Hope, Superman Earth One is a modern retelling of the Superman Mythos.

For those of you wondering, Superman Earth One is in stock on All New Comics, although you should grab a copy quickly as it has sold out at the publisher and distributor level.

• I'm terribly cultured right now, having wandered the art institute…now the shoppings and the eatings! #
• Rain all day??? Damn you Chicago! #
• With all this sprinting I'm doing lately, you'd think I'd be rail thin. Currently doing an entire day of sprint planning. #
• One of my goals in life is to never be the guy who has to be told to take vacation days. So far…great success! My team? FAIL! #
• I just heard the worst Vegas story of all time. Some people shouldn't be allowed to go to Vegas. #
• I'm working away and suddenly realized that what I'm doing makes no sense whatsoever. Either I'm doing it wrong, or it's dumb. #
• The Killers, and now Muse. How is it that nearing the end of my 30's I'm loving the music that the 20 year old me hated? #
• When I bought my reciever 4 years ago two HDMI ports were more than enough. Now I need at least four, probably five. <sigh> #
• I trimmed out the basement shelves yesterday. A little trim to go then it's painting! Doubt I'll get any more done until next week. #
• Workshop upgrade complete. Portable router table assembled and used! #
• I just got caught up on the Internet in 10 minutes by reading my Twitter stream. This is why I love Twitter. #

Dark Horse Comics Let Me In

DC Comics: The Batman Hush – Unwrapped Deluxe Edition HC presents all 320 pages of Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee’s awesome Hush story featuring Lee’s artwork in pencil form. If you’re a fan of art, this is a book for you, $39.99.

There are a pair of slighly off the wall Green Lantern specials this holiday season with both the Green Lantern Larfleeze Christmas Special, and Green Lantern Plastic Man Weapons of Mass Deception.

Marvel - There’s a brand new Heroes for Hire group in the Marvel Universe, Wolverine, the Best There Is, a brand new series starring everyone’s favourite Canucklehead. There’s three more Chaos War one-shots this month with the all new Chaos War X-Men, Chaos War Ares, and Chaos War God Squad stories telling the tale of Marvel’s pantheon going rogue.

Dark Horse: Let Me In: Crossroads, a prequel to the film of the same name. The new Conan series is called Conan: Road of Kings.

Image – There’s a new underwater superhero from Image in MarineMan, while The Art of Todd McFarlane The Devil’s In the Details HC, it’s 300 pages of McFarlane art for $64.99. This will be limited to only 5000 copies, so make sure you pre-order this one.

• We had an amazing anniversary dinner at The Only on King last night. The tasting menu is incredible. #
• Tom Hardy in the new Batman movie? Great call. Hope he'll be someone interesting like Killer Croc, or Deadshot. NOT Riddler. #
• The Human Centipede is available on NetFlix. I would never have rented this, but I have morbid curiosity. Watch or not? #
• I can't believe that it was nine years ago today that I married the most awesome girl in the universe. Happy anniversary Char. #
• Lately my Macbook has required more restarts for updates than all 5 PC's in my house. That seems backwards. 4 in 5 weeks. #
