New Years Resolution – 2010 The Year We Make Contact

My 2010 Resolutions

My 2010 Resolutions

Well, since this is the year that our robot overlords come online and we make contact with alien life forms I guess I better shape up quickly.  As is the usual rigamarole, I’ll review what I resolved to do last year, and what I actually did.

2009 was a pretty big year for our little family. Maks went from being a bag of need to a real little boy, Kaylin has become a big girl in her own right and started school this year.  Somehow Char has done a great job of holding everything together. We got a start on our basement (it’s framed, wired, and drywalled, mudding happens this week, paint and carpet later in the month). At work we got our website redesign completed and started transforming the rest of the business, and I took on a new gig (Executive Producer…or a similar title to be named later).  Oh, and All New Comics pretty much doubled our business again in 2009.

Not a bad little run of a year.

New Years Resolutions for 2009

New Years Resolutions for 2009

It’s that time of the year, where I check in on where I was, and see where I’m going. Last year I had five main goals. It looks like I’m going to have the same number again this year, though a couple of them are holdovers from 2008. I’m impressed with the progress of these bad boys though, there’s one that I did completely, and all five recieved some significant attention in 2008.

Revolutionary resolutions

Last year I made some resolutions (like I do every year) in my post “Time for some resolutions”. Last year there were 7 including one ridiculously easy one, and a couple of really nebulous ones.

#1: Move
#2: Eliminate unecessary things
#3: Only pursue projects that make money
#4: Learn to say no
#5: Get a doctor. Go to doctor. Look after your health.
#6: Go away.
#7: Be better

How’d I do?

Merry Christmas to all!

If you’re reading this, it’s after Christmas, so it’s a belated holiday wish, but it comes from the heart none-the-less.

My new year’s resolutions are:

More HeadsDown, less TSN.ca

This past summer I spent a whole lot of time on TSN.ca, and no time on HeadsDown, as a result, I’m claiming exactly $175.00 in HeadsDown revenue this year, as opposed to last year which was almost 40 times that amount. Not good.

Get in shape

2002 was a bad year for me and my weight. I stopped going to the gym, lost a lot of muscle tone, and did very little cardio. This year, I want to get back to a gym and get back in shape.

Save save save

We did a great job last year, and our house fund is nearly half complete, considering we only started in March, I’m quite impressed. Moreover, we’re saving, but not seriously feeling the pinch. More of the same for this year, with an added emphasis on squirrelling away all those little extra nuggets.

Go somewhere cool

We’re going to Vegas in February, but I’d like to take some day trips in the summer to some cool places like Chicago and New York, two places I’ve always wanted to see.

Love my wife more than I did this year

Mushy, and more than a little annoying, but hey, who cares? It’s my blog!

Finally, re-designs for Tales, HeadsDown, and any other sites I own. They’ve been a long time in coming!
